What We Believe…

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and practice for all human being. The 39 OT books and 27 NT books are the canonically accepted authoritative books of the Bible. We also believe that it must be studied, practiced and propagated.

Christology

We believe that Jesus Christ in His divine side is the only begotten eternal Son of God, the Second Person of Trinity. In his human side he was born of the virgin, and received a sinless human body. He retained his absolute deity while remaining, a perfect man. He will remain God-Man forever. He is the only savior of the world. His birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension were unique and took place as prophesied in the scripture. He will come back to earth in a very unique way.

The Heavenly Beings

We believe that God created a heavenly realm of beings; they are revealed to us as angels. They were all originally created holy with free will. One of the chief angels, called Lucifer rebelled against God and fell from his holy estate and came to be called Satan. The fallen angel, Satan, with the other angels who fell with him works against God and His programmes. The holy angels fulfill the commands of God and have a great part in all of God’s programme.

The Church

We believe that God, in the Bible has revealed His master plan for the future. The return of Christ to the mid air to receive the Church i.e. the Rapture of the Church is imminent. All dead in Christ and all believers who are alive at that time will be caught up to Him. To those who are left behind begins a period of Tribulation for seven years on earth. This will be followed by the glorious appearance of the Son of God, which is the second phase of the Second Coming of Christ, to establish His Millennial Kingdom, on earth. After the millennial rule of Christ is the final judgment and then ushers the eternal state.

Practical Living

We believe that all those who are redeemed by the blood of Christ are set apart for separated holy living. They are to obey the Word of God and to live as Christ’s Disciples. Following Christ as commanded in the Word of God is mandatory to all believers. This leads to Christ- likeness which is God’s will concerning all the redeemed. This is made possible by the enabling work of the Holy Spirit in response to the individual’s commitment and obedience to the Word of God for holy living.

The Triune God

We believe that God exists in TRINITY, three persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in one God-head from eternity. The Triune God is worthy of all praise, honour and worship. God is all powerful, all-knowing and all-present (omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent). The universe is His creation and is in His absolute control.

Pneumatology

He is the Third person of Trinity. The Spirit of God has been actively involved in the creation and also in the preservation of the present world. The Holy Spirit is now present in every believer and in the community of believers, The Church of God, and active to the extent of freedom given to Him. Certain charismatic and miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the NT subsequently became unnecessary and hence ceased to exist.
Filling of the Spirit and Baptism of the Spirit are two different works of the Spirit. Filling of the Spirit is the work that the Holy Spirit is continually or repeatedly doing in a believer to enable him to bear spiritual fruits and to live a victorious Christian life. Baptism of the Spirit is the invisible work of God as individual believers are added to the Church, which is the Body of Christ.

THe Man and Sin

We believe that Man is the crown of all creation. He was created in the image and likeness of God. The first man Adam fell and violated the divine will and thus the entire human race after him became sinners down the centuries. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This State of spiritual death or the total depravity of human nature was transmitted to the entire human race. God through His incarnate Son, Jesus Christ, accomplished salvation for the lost humanity.

The Future

We believe that the Church is the accomplished work of Christ, revealed in the NT. It is not found in the OT. It is the exclusive programme of God, commenced on the day of Pentecost that followed the Ascension of Jesus Christ. The Church is the worshipping community of believers. It is universal in existence, comprising of all believers in Jesus Christ from Pentecost till the Rapture. Visibly the church is local, consisting of believers in a locality gathering together to worship Jesus Christ and to fulfill His Great Commission. God is now engaged in the building up of His church. All believers are commissioned to witness and evangelise.

Salvation

We believe that, sin entered into the human race through Adam’s fall at Eden. All human beings thus became sinners and condemned for eternal hell. Hence, all are in need of salvation. Man by his own means will never attain salvation. God in his mercy and love prepared salvation for all. The gracious quickening of the dead human spirit by the Holy Spirit moves or wooes man to receive the gift of salvation by Faith. It is the complete work of Christ and man can’t add anything to it. Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Christos.
